Meet The Pollution Preventers
Deshawn: Deshawn is a part of the Harper Woods FutureThink class. Having the opportunity to be in this class is considered a great achievement. He plays basketball at Harper Woods Middle School. Deshawn is a student that is constantly striving for excellence. He is a very intelligent student that has set high goals for his future. One of them includes studying to be an anesthesiologist at Michigan State University. Being a part of pollution preventers is important to him because he want to help preserve the world's largest fresh water environment.
Brian: Brian is also a part of the Harper Woods FutureThink Exploratory class of 2011-2012. He plays for the Harper Woods Middle School Football Team as well as the drums. Brian is an all A student and was student of the week. He had the chance to skip a grade when he was younger however he chose not to. He said that he feels fortunate because if he had skipped a grade, he would not have this chance to be working with eCYBERMISSION or with the FutureThink class. Brian would like to attend Stanford University when he gets older. Brian was interested in being part of the Pollution Preventers because he want to help keep our water systems clean.
Chris: Chris became interested in conservation of the environment through his teacher, Mrs. Teisan. She introduced him to everything when he became a student in her FutureThink Class. He has enjoyed it because he likes having the hands-on work instead of just reading. It's more interactive than most of his classes where they just read books. Chris likes working with my eCYBERMISSION teammates because with out them, they would not have been able to get as far as they have in the competition. He says that they take conservation of the environment just as seriously as he does. When he gets older, he plans to attend Harvard University and become President of the United States. However, if that does not work out, his back up plan is to join the air-force and be an air-force pilot.
Tony: Tony became interested in the conservation of the wildlife in the Great Lakes Area because with out these animals, life would not be the same. He said that this opportunity of being in Mrs. Teisan's FutureThink Class and a part of eCYBERMISSION has allowed him to follow his dream of becoming a conservationist and a biologist. His hope is one day he will be able to teach people about the importance of preserving the plants and animals of the world. Being a part of the Pollution Preventers has given him an opportunity to begin teaching other people about pollution and what he has learned throughout the process of his teams research.
